As your State Representative, it is important to reach out to you, keep you informed, and listen to your concerns. My favorite part of being a State Representative is talking to people, and encouraging them to become engaged. I have continued to be active in community events in all three towns of the 34th district. It has been an honor to serve the people of East Haddam, East Hampton, and Colchester.

As an active member of the Education Committee, the Transportation Committee and the Higher Ed & Workforce Development Committee, I will maintain a strong attendance at the Capitol. My committee assignments have put me at the center of many important policy debates. On the Transportation Committee, I opposed tolling Connecticut drivers. On the Education Committee, I worked to block forced regionalization, and concentrated on reducing unfunded mandates. Serving a leadership role on Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee, I have focused on business growth by advocating for trade school incentives, apprenticeships and workforce development issues that will boost economic development.

I am running for re-election because I want to continue to be your voice in Hartford! There is no question that these are challenging times. Repeatedly, residents have said that our state has become unaffordable. Increasing taxes, fees, mandates and healthcare costs have squeezed family budgets and hurt our quality of life. I will advocate for affordability and oppose legislation that would make it harder for people to get ahead. Economic development and creating more opportunities for employers and employees should be at the forefront of the conversation in Hartford. We must listen to our local job creators concerning workforce needs, outdated regulations, and the increasing costs of doing business. I will propose and support legislation that will have a positive impact on our job creators, for new jobs and opportunities for our young people through apprenticeship and internship programs. I will support our first responders, our veterans and our seniors. I will advocate for protection of our beautiful and rich natural environment that we all call home.

I hope I can get your help reaching my goal of $6,000 and 200 signatures so that I can continue to be your voice in Hartford. Acceptable donations can be from $5 - $290. With your support on November 8^th, together we can work for a stronger Connecticut, and for those issues that matter to us in the 34^th House District.
